ตลาดรถยนต์ใหม่ในประเทศอินโดนีเซีย ยังคงได้รับผลกระทบจากการแพร่ระบาดของโรคโควิด-19 โดยยอดขายส่ง ลดลงถึง 58.8% เมื่อเทียบกับช่วงเวลาเดียวกันของปีก่อน อยู่ที่ 37,291 คัน ทำให้ยอดขายส่งใน 8 เดือนแรกอยู่ที่ 323,507 คัน ลดลง 51.1% ส่วนยอดขายปลีก ก็ลดลงใกล้เคียงกันคือที่ 57.8% เพียง 37,655 คัน ทำให้ยอดขายปลีกสะสมในปีนี้ อยู่ที่ 364,034 คัน ลดลง 46.2% เมื่อเทียบกับปีก่อน
Toyota ยังคงนำมาเป็นอันดับ 1 ในด้านยอดขายรวมทั้งขายส่งและขายปลึก โดยในเดือนสิงหาคมที่่ผ่านมา Nissan Livina รถอเนกประสงค์ขนาดเล็กที่ใช้แพลตฟอร์มร่วมกับ Mitsubishi Xpander ทำเซอร์ไพรส์ด้วยการขึ้นมาเป็นอันดับ 1 ในด้านยอดขายส่ง จากในเดือนกรกฎาคม ที่อันดับ 31 ด้วยยอดขายสูงถึง 6,338 คัน นำห่างที่ 2 อย่าง Toyota Kijang Innova ถึง 2.5 เท่าตัว ในขณะที่แชมป์เก่าอย่าง Suzuki Carry ตกลงไปเป็นอันดับ 6
Nissan ให้เหตุผลว่า ยอดขายส่งที่เพิ่มสูงขึ้นมาก มาจากการสั่งซื้อของตัวแทนจำหน่ายทั่วประเทศ แต่เมื่อดูจากตัวเลขยอดขายปลีกรวมของ Nissan แล้ว จะมีเพียง 996 คันเท่านั้น แสดงว่าในเดือนต่อๆไปหลังจากนี้ ยอดขายปลึกเพิ่มสูงขึ้น สะท้อนยอดการสั่งซื้อจากตัวแทนจำหน่ายของ Nissan และในช่วงที่ผ่านมา Nissan ก็ไม่ได้ทำกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการขายใดๆ แต่มีความเป็นไปได้ว่า Nissan เร่งระบายสต็อกเพื่อเตรียมการผลิต Nissan Kicks ออกมาจำหน่าย จึงให้ตัวแทนจำหน่ายทั่วประเทศทำการสั่งซื้อ Livina ไปก่อนล่วงหน้า
